Early Intervention
First Steps is Indiana's early intervention program for children from birth to age three that would benefit from services to meet their developmental milestones. Through our First Steps program, Therapy Solutions provides Physical, Occupational, Speech, Developmental, and Development of Communication (SLPA) Therapies across multiple counties in central and southern Indiana. Our providers coach families and caregivers in their natural setting using everyday activities to promote growth and development. Our First Steps providers are skilled in working with a variety of diagnoses that include but are not limited to: Autism, developmental delays, prematurity, failure to thrive, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, spina bifida, genetic disorders, feeding difficulties, fine and gross motor delays, speech and communication delays, dysphagia, hearing impairment, cleft palate, torticollis, etc.
Christian
Christian has a Bachelor’s from Purdue University in Early Childhood Education and Intervention. She also has a Master’s from Ball State University in Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus on Autism. She is a member of the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Christian started in First Steps in 2002 where she was a Developmental Therapist for 17 years. In 2018, she was appointed the First Steps Director at Therapy Solutions. During her undergrad internship at Purdue University in the Infant/Toddler Labs, she worked as a Teaching Assistant and completed her intervention component working specifically with a toddler with Autism. It was that experience that made Christian realize that Early Intervention would be a lifelong career path for her.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, listening to music and playing euchre. Her favorite color is green and she loves any kind of Historical drama piece, whether it be a movie, TV show, or book.
